At the time of initiating the awareness project, our main goal was to spread awareness about various government schemes, the government benefits available for poor families and awareness about medical health and hygiene. But this is one project where our goals quickly bifurcated to take more than one paths. We realized that it is not just poor families who lack awareness but even the rest of the people in the society are mostly unaware of the problems faced by the less-privileged people in the society, about the scarcity of food and water among poor families, about the extent of discrimination and humiliation faced by the less fortunate every day, and most importantly, about the ways in which they can make a difference.
Our blogs are a part of spreading awareness among people about the existing state of poor people in the currently. We also undertake several campaigns to spread awareness. One such campaign was the Humanity Ride which was in collaboration with Everest Cycling Culture (ECC) through which riders of the ECC teams cycled from Vashi to Kharghar, Navi Mumbai. Temple of India Foundation has also been present in school fairs and in flea markets organized by companies in order to reach out to more people and make them aware of the problems faced by poor people in the society.
On the other hand, our work towards increasing awareness among the poor with respect to medical health, hygiene, and government schemes has also been very effective. We have organized medical health camps and medical awareness camps in collaboration with Switch India and Dr. G. D. Pol Foundation. Additionally, our team distributes sanitary napkins every month to young school-going girls and needy women who would otherwise end up using rags during periods.
The Awareness Project has helped us become more aware of the needs of the poor as well. We hope to be able to continue our work as effectively as possible with the generous support of our sponsors and volunteers. Call us on 8169026597 or 9870973330 to support the foundation.
