On April 14th, 2018, Temple of India conduct its second food distribution drive in Kharghar, Navi Mumbai. The drive helped 100 people enjoy a nourishing meal. A large fraction of the people we fed were children. These kids roam aimlessly on the streets every day without education, without a future planned for themselves and most importantly without food.
Temple of India is on a mission to change their despairing conditions and help them live a comfortable life. To do this, we have started conducting food distribution drives every weekend at Kharghar, Navi Mumbai. Through these drives we are able to light a ray of hope for underprivileged families who live on the streets of Kharghar.
While their current situation cannot be remedied instantly. We aim to bring a change not just by offering sympathy in the form of food, but by helping these families build a stronger future for themselves through education. The children on these photos do not go to school and many have resorted to begging on the streets for food.
If you ever pass by the traffic lights of Kharghar you may come across them wandering haplessly on the streets looking for some kind person to give them food or money that will be the source of their survival for the day.
Imagine the despairing lives they lead. Imagine the troubles they go through at such a young age. Image the sorrow of their hearts to see privileged children pass by them.
Let us pledge to help these young girls and boys go to school and build a bright future for themselves. This way, they will not have to beg on the streets any longer. Education can help them secure a job which can pull them out of the streets and integrate them into the fortunate section of the society.
Help us, help them!
